Conceive baby boy by changing your diet before you conceive, and maintaining a certain kind of diet during your pregnancy!

Sounds like one of those outlandish old wives’ tales?

Not quite!

Scientists now seem to agree that there is a possible link between what you eat and which gender you’ll conceive.

Pregnant women on high calorie diet are more likely to have a baby boy!
Also, eating food rich in nutrients such as potassium and calcium, and vitamins C, D and B12 – seems to upper your chance of conceiving a baby boy!

Where those conclusions came from? Actually, it’s from a new research done at the universities of Exeter and Oxford. The scientists examined the diets of a large number of first-time mothers and found that those who ate a higher number of calories were more likely to conceive with a boy!

Among women with the highest calorie intake before pregnancy – 56 percent had boys.

Women who had boys also ate an additional 300 mg of potassium daily!

Don’t you have an urge now to go and eat a banana?:)

It has been speculated for the last 30 years in the scientistic world that the diet of a mother could predict the gender of a baby. There has been enough evidence that diet in mammals can affect the sex of their offspring. Namely, a lot of mammals when well fed produce more boys, while in starvation situation there are more girls than boys being born.

Seems like there are more nutrients needed to conceive a boy rather than a girl… In any case: now you have one more reason not to skip breakfast!:) Especially when you hear this next piece of statistics:
Eat at least one bowl of breakfast cereal daily and you will have a 87 percent more chance that you’ll conceive a baby boy!

So, treat yourself with an additional serving of steak with potatoes and have a piece of cake:)

But… don’t overdo it! Never forget that proper nutrition is essentially important for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
Whatever gender that baby will be!

Editor’s note: This article is courtesy of a contributing author… please enjoy!

Ovarian cyst has become a common gynecological problem. However, this condition is very traumatic for women who have to undergo conventional medical treatment for getting relief from this chronic disease. The conventional medicine approach to ovarian cysts is the most common approach, which is used when treating this disease. However, the limited treatment options and the resulting stress can also be too much for a woman to handle. Therefore, more and more women are turning towards alternate forms of treatments for curing ovarian cysts.

Understanding conventional medicinal approach to ovarian cysts

Conventional medicine approach to ovarian cysts is very simple and straightforward. There are 3 stages involved in conventional treatment of ovarian cysts.

Understanding the symptoms: There are certain textbook symptoms of ovarian cysts condition, which include irregular menstruation, pelvic pain, infertility, and more. The patients are asked to keep a tab on these symptoms so that the condition can be diagnosed as soon as possible. However, sometimes, ovarian cysts do not give rise to any symptom. Hence, they can be discovered accidentally during routine gynecological examination.

Diagnosing ovarian cysts: There are different ways of diagnosing ovarian cysts. Besides understanding the symptoms of the condition, the practitioner will also make use of Endovaginal ultrasound, CT scanning, blood test, Laproscopy and many other forms of tests to conform his suspicions. Like the treatment, the diagnosis stage of the treatment can be equally traumatic.

Treatment: The treatment for ovarian cysts will depend upon the type of the cyst and its nature. If the cyst is benign, little or no treatment is required. However, in the case of serious condition, conventional medicine will recommended the following forms of treatment

Birth control pills: Birth control pills stop ovulation. They therefore repress ovarian cysts. They can also reduce the size of the follicles and help in reducing the size of the existing cysts.

Surgery: If the cysts are cancerous or if there are any other complications, then surgery is recommended. Surgery will again depend upon the type of cyst and the resulting complications. Sometimes, only the cyst is removed. However, it is not very uncommon to remove the ovaries to get rid of the cyst.

Besides the above, pain relievers are also given to provide relief from pain caused by the cysts.

Disadvantage and side effects of ovarian cysts treatment

There are many disadvantages and side effects of conventional medicine approach to ovarian cysts. Birth control pills can cause prolonged infertility, even when the treatment is discarded. Also, the conventional treatment does not fully cure ovarian cysts and the surgery may also increase the chances of ovarian cysts in the long run. Hence, conventional medication is not considered to be an appropriate form of treatment for ovarian cysts. As the disease is very complex, a multidimensional approach is required to deal with the disease. This is provided only by a holistic approach. Unlike conventional medicine, holistic approach targets the root causes of the disease and not the symptoms. Hence, holistic approach can cure ovarian cysts completely and can provide long-term relief, a task at which conventional wisdom shows its limitations. Therefore, when it comes to curing ovarian cysts, holistic approach is the best form of treatment.

Editor’s note: This article is courtesy of a contributing author… please enjoy!

The idea of having kids is one thing that couple are always fond of. It is said that kids are not just the fruits of a couple’s love for each other but they also benefit a lot out of that love. Besides these symbolisms though, when couples marry starting a family is usually the next step in their relationship. However, some may have problems in having children. These may be becasue of two main reasons: one is infertility and the other one is sexual dysfunctions brought about by psychological concerns.Of course, the first recourse is to ask for help from a medical practitioner.

Fortunately, thanks to modern science, there are now a number of methods for couples who have infertility concerns to choose from as options. Many of these fall under the category called artificial insemination.Among the many insemination methods, the one deemed as the most effective is called intrauterine insemination or IUI.A safe and tested approach, the IUI pregnancy has provided many happy couples kids and the best option to resolve the issue of those who cannot make children in a natural manner.

For information on natural cures for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

IUI is recommended for couples who have waited for a year or more for kids. Before the female is cured with it, the couple should first subject themselves to tests. This is done to find out who has the infertility issue. With these tests that they go through, the man is tested if his sperm has normal functions. This also involves finding out the sperm count, mobility as well as sperm morphology.Meantime, the female is also tested to make sure that she has a normal ovulation cycle, has no blocked fallopian tubes, and a normal uterine cavity as well.

The process of having an IUI pregnancy is really simple and fast. What can take time are the tests and complying to other requirements to avail of it.Basically, it is just injecting sperm into the uterus. Through direct injection of the sperm, the chances of not being able to conceive with the female egg reduced. This means may be or may not be complemented by using fertility drugs.Taking these medications would increase the chance of getting pregnant. However, the heightened fertility can also make multiple pregnancies possible. It is highly suggested that a couple must first consult a doctor about the safety of taking infertility drugs before an IUI treatment.

Acupuncture for Infertility – Tracing Its Roots

Acupuncture originated in China over 1,000 years ago. In the West, many people in the field of medicine consider it a valid procedure for treating an array of ailments. It can remedy muscle tension, improve skin condition and get rid of smoking, to name a few. Recent research findings show that acupuncture is beneficial to couples experiencing infertility.

Click here for info about natural ovarian cyst relief secrets.

The West’s Point Of View

Acupuncture may be popular, but some Westerners still doubt its effectiveness. Very little scientific evidence is available to support acupuncture. As a result, many people shy away from using it. The National Institutes of Health in the US says that researches are currently being conducted on the issue.

For information on natural cures for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

Hazards To Health

The procedure is painless when performed by a trained practitioner. Very few patients experience adverse effects. Organ puncturing, the spead of infection, or forgotten/broken needles are some of the risks that come with acupuncture. These can be done away with by having an experienced practitioner perform therapy. However, acupuncture must not be performed on people who have bleeding disorders and those who use blood thinning agents.

Click here for info about ovarian cyst back pain.

Solo Versus Complementary

Acupuncture taken by itself is a great aid to fertility procedures. It is also viewed as greatly complementary to modern fertility procedures. When used by itself, acupuncture benefits those who have functional problems, like intermittent ovulation, better. Taken alone, it may not work as well in addressing structural issues, like a blockage in the sperm duct.

Some acupuncture practitioners recommend that Chinese herbs be used alongside acupuncture procedures and treatments. If you are under medication, check your doctor before taking herbs. There are certain herbs that may inhibit the action of fertility procedures and drugs.

Acupuncture for Fertility– Does It Work?

How acupuncture works as a cure for infertility is still debatable. However, practitioners emphasize this age-old treatment’s ability to normalize the body’s functions. It helps boost blood flow into reproductive organs and regulates hormone levels. The general outcome is enhanced ovarian function in females and a higher sperm count in males.

Acupuncture benefits women positively, particularly those who are undergoing fertility boosting therapies. Some say that the stress that comes with fertility procedures can also be lessened with acupuncture. Findings of recent studies show acupuncture’s ability to increase the conception rate in women who opt for in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Click here for info about how to cure ovarian cysts.

Selecting The Best Practitioner

In order to practice acupuncture, doctors are required to complete more or less 300 hours of special training before they are awarded a certification. Professionals looking to branch out to acupuncture need to pass the board exam first and complete between 2000 and 3000 hours of training to be licensed in this field.

There are many people who practice acupuncture, and the number continues to rise. To ensure that potential patients land in the hands of good practitioners, a few things must be considered. People who are thinking of undergoing acupuncture must do a background check on a potential acupuncturist. A practitioner should have the training and certification required by the state or other government authority where he or she conducts practice. One can find good recommendations from family and friends who have tried acupuncture services of certain providers.

Would-be patients should first inquire about ballpark total expenses just to be prepared with the costs early on. Many individuals are relieved that some insurance plans cover charges for acupuncture treatments.

Know What to Expect

Several acupuncture treatments have to be undergone before one gets the best results. To get the most out of acupuncture, patients usually go through a series of visits that can run from several weeks to a few months. A visit to the acupuncturist normally goes on for an hour or so, as this time will be used to discuss your present health condition and entertain any question about the entire procedure.

Female Reproduction

Reproductive System

The female reproductive system is essential for human reproduction. There are two main parts to the female reproductive system which are the uterus and ovaries. The uterus is used to produce vaginal and uterine secretions, pass male sperm to the fallopian tubes and to accomodate a developing fetus.Eggs are produced by a gland called the ovaries. The mass majority of eggs within ovaries gradually die, until they are depleted during menopause. At birth, a female has approximately 1 million eggs. The process known as ovulation starts at puberty, where the egg matures and breaks throught the ovarian wall about every 28 days. The eggs continue to degenerate during pregnancy, with the use of birth control pills, and in the presence or absence of menstrual cycles.

Fallopian tubes have small hair-like projections called cilia on the lining. These l cilia are necessary to the movement of an egg through the tube, and into the uterus. If the cilia are damaged by infection, the egg may not progress along, and stay in the tube.

Infection can also cause partial or complete blockage of the tube, physically preventing the egg from moving to the uterus.

Any process such as infection, scar tissue, tumors, endometriosis, damages the Fallopian tube or narrows its diameter and increases the chance of an etopic pregnancy which is a pregnancy that develops in the tubes or another abnormal location outside the.

Cervical mucus increases, and becomes thinner with a more stretchy consistency in order to facilitate the transport of sperm into the uterus. The uterine structure must be anatomically suitable for the successful implantation of an embryo. Abnormalities of the uterus include a wall in the center of the uterine body called a Septum, a one- sided or banana shaped uterus called Unicornate, or Bicornate which is two banana shaped uteri side by side; may end at one or have two cervices and vaginas.

Terms

Vagina- Muscular, membranous tube that connects external genitalia with cervix and uterus; also called birth canal. The vagina provides passageway for sperm, menstrual flow and fetus during childbirth

Cervix- Neck of uterus that extends down into the vagina; it dilates during labor

Uterus- Hollow muscular organ at upper end of vagina; also called womb; sheds endometrium lining during menstruation and holds fetus during pregnancy

Fallopian Tubes- Connect ovaries to uterus; transports the ovum to the uterus

Ovary- Almond sized and shaped gland that produces eggs

Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)- Secreted by the anterior pituitary to help follicles mature

Luteinizing Hormone (LH) – Secreted by the anterior pituitary hormone that regulates menstrual cycle and completes maturation of follicles

Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRh) – Secreted by hypothalamus; stimulates the release of FSH and LH from pituitary gland

Estrogen- Produced by ovaries; helps female genital tract suitable for fertilization, implantation and embryonic nutrition

Progesterone- Secreted by Corpus Luteum; prepares endometrium lining for fertilization

Corpus Luteum- Endocrine organ structure on the ovary surface; maintains the uterine endometrium

Endometrium- Mucous membrane lining the uterus; changes in thickness structure with menstrual cycle

Fertilization- Act or process of initiating biological reproduction

A health problem that causes increase levels of Androgens, missed or irregular periods, developing cysts in ovaries, are health problems that can affect a woman’s ability to have children. This problem is referred to as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). The cause of PCOS is unknown, but several factors including genetics and hormonal imbalance. PCOS occurs in 5% to 10% of women and is the most common cause of Infertility in women. Often, during a pelvic exams, is when a woman finds out about a cyst.

The main problem is a hormone called Androgens which are male hormones that females also produce. The increased levels of the is harmone slow the development and release of eggs during ovulation. Some researchers say that insulin is linked to PCOS. Increased levels of insulin can predispose a woman to polycystic ovaries. The thing that can cause androgens to increase are insulin levels. Most women with PCOS grow many small cysts on their ovaries. The is the reason it’s called polycystic ovary syndrome. These cysts are not harmful, but can lead to hormonal imbalances.

For information on natural cures for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

Symptoms of PCOS tend to be mild at first and you may have only a few symptoms or a lot of them. The most common symptoms are:

Acne

Weight gain or trouble losing weight

Extra hair on the face and body

Thinning hair on the scalp

Irregular and fewer periods

Fertility problems; trouble getting pregnant

Depression

Skin discolorations

High cholesterol levels

Elevated blood pressure

Multiple, small cysts in the ovaries

Elevated insulin levels and insulin resistance

Oily skin

Dandruff

Treatments for PCOS include Birth control pills that contain female hormones that help to regulate menstrual cycles. Contraceptives also help to lower levels of androgens. Insulin-sensitizing medications used to treat adult-onset diabetes are useful for many women with PCOS. While these medications have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) specifically for the treatment of PCOS, they seem to improve the regularity of menstrual cycles by lowering insulin levels. Ovulation Induction. In some women who wish to become pregnant, inducing ovulation is necessary. In current methods, the initial treatment to induce ovulation is usually an oral medication called Clomiphene citrate, which is taken for five days. If clomiphene is not effective, the next order of treatment often includes an injectable medication of gonadotropins. Lastly, Exercise helps the body use insulin more effectively and is highly recommended as well. It helps with weight loss and keeping off weight.

Using today’s medical discoveries in the world of reproductive assistance, the latest advancements of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) has provided a means of infertility treatment for many couples. Technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) have helped many couples experiencing difficulty in getting pregnant. But ART alone is not always enough and the hopeful cure for infertility fade away for the couple.

Acupuncture, is an age old Chinese medical science practiced for over 2,500 years, and has many successes for differing ailments. One of its many successes is infertility treatment. You probably wonder how poking needles into your body could help with any issues within the body, let alone increase chances of getting pregnant. Of course the medical field of experts mostly ignore the claims, but acupuncture for infertility and other medical problems has been proven effective time and time again. However, those medical professionals who understand that even the best medical technologies is not 100% effective, have joined the forces of both sciences to provide a much greater chance of getting pregnantby offering referrals to acupuncturists specializing in infertility.

For information on acupuncture for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

How Infertility Acupuncture Works

Today’s acupuncture is widely accepted in the US and Europe, many as licensed specialists in varying fields. Acupuncture, as a procedure, is simply the inserting of thin needles into pressure points on the body. It’s the expertise of the acupuncturist and knowing where and how to apply the needles that provides the results of this ancient science. The exact placement of the needle allows them to control physical body problems such as infertility. Of course Chinese medicine includes not only acupuncture, but also many natural herbs. When combined, the treatments can range from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), elevated follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and even multiple miscarriages.

Combining acupuncture with modern technologies such as IVF, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and donor-egg transfers has been met with success rates as high as a 65 percent improvement in pregnancy. However, the combining of acupuncture with any ART infertility procedure requires timing. To be most effective, it is very critical to begin acupuncture procedures about three months before the first ART infertility procedure and continue it for about three months after pregnancy begins to protect the fetus during the first trimester.

For information on acupuncture for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

What Can I Expect to Pay?

Be aware that most health insurance will not cover infertility treatment costs, including acupuncture. However, by combining acupuncture with ART, you could end up saving the costs of additional ART treatment cycles potentially resulting in an overall cost savings.

Some examples of what you may experience in costs for these treatments:
– Each IVF treatment costs a couple $10,000 with possibly three or more cycles needed (especially for women over 35)
– Acupuncture would cost about $1,000 for each cycle
– If including acupuncture could provide conception earlier than the potential number of IVF cycles estimated, the cost savings would increase exponentially by the number of IVF cycles not required

Of course it is impossible to predict with any certainty, how much acupuncture would help any one person, but it is certainly worth considering it based on effectiveness and possible cost savings.

For information on acupuncture for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

In summary, western medical science combined with modernized far eastern practices can result in a much higher success rate for couples having difficulty in getting pregnant. It has a proven history of increasing chances of getting pregnant that shouldn’t be overlooked when considering options for infertility treatments.

IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT PICKING A SPERM DONOR

One of the most important facts about picking a sperm donor was not the color of his eyes or his education level but making sure the sperm was negative for CMV (Cytomegalovirus).

What is CMV? According to Wikipedia, Cytomegalovirus (from the Greek cyto-, “cell”, and -megalo-, “large”) is a herpes viral genus of the Herpesviruses group: in humans it is commonly known as HCMV or Human Herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5).[1] CMV belongs to the Betaherpesvirinae subfamily of Herpesviridae, which also includes Roseolovirus. Other herpes viruses fall into the subfamilies of Alphaherpesvirinae (including HSV 1 and 2 and varicella) or Gammaherpesvirinae (including Epstein-Barr virus).[1] All herpes viruses share a characteristic ability to remain latent within the body over long periods.

Abnormalities can be caused in the baby even before birth if the sperm sample is not negative or free of CMV virus.

Also according to Wikipedia: For infants who are infected by their mothers before birth, two potential adverse scenarios exist:

Generalized infection may occur in the infant, and can cause complications such as low birth weight, microcephaly, seizures, petechial rash similar to the “blueberry muffin” rash of congenital rubella syndrome, and moderate hepatosplenomegaly (with jaundice). Though severe cases can be fatal, with supportive treatment most infants with CMV disease will survive. However, from 80% to 90% will have complications within the first few years of life that may include hearing loss, vision impairment, and varying degrees of mental retardation.

Another 5% to 10% of infants who are infected but without symptoms at birth will subsequently have varying degrees of hearing and mental or coordination problems.

The incidence of primary CMV infection in pregnant women in the United States varies from 1% to 3%. Healthy pregnant women are not at special risk for disease from CMV infection. When infected with CMV, most women have no symptoms and very few have a disease resembling infectious mononucleosis. It is their developing fetuses that may be at risk for congenital CMV disease. CMV remains the most important cause of congenital viral infection in the United States. HCMV is the most common cause of congenital infection in humans and intrauterine primary infections are second only to Down’s syndrome as a known cause of mental retardation.[2]

Often when using a Sperm bank, you will be given the option to choose a donor who has tested “positive” or “negative” for CMV. Although positive CMV samples may be cheaper, you will find that the Fertility clinic that you choose, will ask you to sign a waiver in the event that you choose to use a CMV positive sample.

Check out my website at twomommys.com

For our sample, we went the safe route and chose a CMV negative sample. We didn’t want to run the risk of our child having any complications, no matter how small.

Infertility is common to men and women and for various reasons, both known and unknown. What is important, though, is to treat this problem. Causes, in women, may include diseases like endometriosis, low ovary level, improper ovulation and low progesterone level. In men, the causes could be low sperm count and motility, STD, physical injury or chronic ailments, sperm blockage and age.

For more great tips on how to get pregnant quickly See How To Get Pregnant

Most infertility disorders can be treated by medical help except aging. These treatments can be expensive and have adverse side effects which would need separate medical treatment. IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) are among the better methods for treating infertility. In IVF, a hormonally controlled ovulation procedure, the egg cells are fertilized externally, in a fluid medium and then transferred to the womb. In ICSI, a single sperm is directly injected into the egg. These treatments are recommended when all other methods have failed. This process is different from the biological process of conception, in that the eggs are removed by an embryologist from the woman’s ovary, fertilizing them in a lab and then transferring it to the uterus. In the natural, biological process, the stronger sperm penetrates the egg. The healthier sperm and egg get selected naturally. In the artificial process the danger is that the embryologist may fail to select stronger and healthier sperm and egg and this may lead to genetic disorders in the child, even at a later stage.

Alternative techniques using a holistic approach, that cures secondary infertility, is fast gaining acceptance as they have little or no side effects.

Auricular, or simply known as ear acupuncture, is found to be very effective in treating cases of infertility in women due to ovarian malfunction. In this acupuncture method, the brain is found to transfer the hormonal signal more effectively to the ovary. This is borne out by women who have received this treatment for about 30 times in a 3-month period as against those women who underwent conventional hormonal therapy. The former had no side effects unlike the latter.

The alternative treatment emphasizes a lot on diet and lifestyle changes and hence proscribes products that contain caffeine. Coffee, cocoa, chocolate and green teas (with caffeine content) are not favored. Likewise, black tea and colored soft drinks that impair conception are off the list. It is said that one and a half cup of coffee can delay conception in a woman. Coffee is the bad boy for pregnancy.

PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) contaminated fish should not be included in the diet as this considerably lowers the chance to conceive. One study found that women who ate more than one meal that included PCB contaminated fish (got from Lake Ontario) became less fertile within a month.

Chinese medicines, acupuncture and certainly, the holistic treatment have provided the best results. The holistic method gets to the root of the cause first and only then prescribes the physical, spiritual and emotional treatment. Whereas the conventional method concentrates on investigating the organs to provide remedy for the problem and may not correctly identify and eliminate the cause. Besides, it also has side effects. The holistic method prescribes a natural remedy and a correct lifestyle to correct infertility after determining the real cause.

FERTILITY MEDICATIONS

The majority of the time when a woman is placed on Fertility medications she has some underlying problem which is preventing her from getting pregnant the traditional way. Some problems such as Ovarian Cyst, Ovarian Failure, Septate Uterus, Pelvic Adhesions or many other problems that could be causing issues within her reproductive system. And not to put it all on the female, men have issues as well, such as Low Sperm Count, Male Azoospermia, Male Oligospermia and so on and so forth.

In our case, none of those problems were an issue for us. We simply wanted to increase the chances of pregnancy since our Sperm samples were so expensive. Many Fertility medications increase the amount of eggs a woman produces every month from the traditional one egg she produces per cycle. For the purposes of this article we will talk about the two medications we used, which were Clomid 50 mg (clomiphene citrate) and Femera 5 mg.When taking any Fertility medication you can have multiples.Your chances of having twins increase by 10%.Increased egg production is one of the benefits of taking a Fertility drug like Clomid.

For information on natural cures for infertility and many other natural options to increase chances of getting pregnant, click here.

How to take Clomid

My partner was directed to take Clomid 50mg on day 3-7 of her cycle. It comes in pill form and you usually take one 50mg pill everyday, day 3-7 of her menstrual cycle.

What’s happens after taking Clomid?

We were told to come back into the doctor’s office on day 12 of her cycle. On day 12, the doctor performed an ultrasound to see how her follicles had grown.

What is a follicle? According to Wikipedia, Ovarian follicles are the basic units of female reproductive biology, each of which is composed of roughly spherical aggregations of cells found in the ovary. They contain a single oocyte (aka ovum or egg). These structures are periodically initiated to grow and develop, culminating in ovulation of usually a single competent oocyte in humans. These eggs/ova are only developed once every menstrual cycle (e.g. once a month in humans).

Eight follicles of various sizes were found during the ultrasound examination. The sizes ranged from 12mm to 4mm. Optimally, they want to see the follicles grow to as much as 18-20mm, by day 16, after your menstrual cycle begins. Usually follicles grow at 2mm per day.

So we were told to come back on day 16. If you do the math, her 12mm follicle should have grown to 20mm by day 16. Unfortunately, for us when we returned on that day, the follicle had “poofed” and just disappeared.

Now Clomid doesn’t work for everyone. Some complaints have been that it thins out the lining of the uterus, which needs to thicken in order to support the fertilized egg. Other complaints have been that the follicles do not grow, which happens to be what happened in our case. But most doctors would like you to at least try 6 cycles on Clomid to see if it would work. But for us, we could see that this was not the solution because we tried Clomid for 2 more cycles and the same scenario happened each time.

We even tried injectable medication to go along with the Clomid to see if it would speed up the growth of the eggs, but that didn’t help either. The injectable we tried was Menopur. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for us. But it could work for you.

Check out my website at twomommys.com

What are injectables?

Injectables are just what they sound like, you must inject yourself with whatever particular medication your doctor prescribes in order to stimulate the follicles to grow within the ovaries.

Injectable medications are very expensive, so if you’re not in a hurry to have a baby, I just suggest going with medications such as Clomid. If you don’t have fertility problems and are just trying to increase your egg production then stay away from the injectables. But that would be totally up to you. We showed a little patience and moved on to the next medication.

We did a little research and decided to move on to another Fertility Drug which I will discuss in the next article.
